The financial support of the World Bank for this project is extremely important for the implementation of this project in Vratza region where the ethnic conflicts, especially the conflicts between the Roma and the other communities are predominant and creating difficulties in the social field. 

At the end of February 2001 in the area of Butan town and Kozludui town, Vratza region, representatives of the Roma community declared citizens’ disobedience and blocked the main road Kozludui -Vratza for several days. The avoiding and the non-discussing the problems of the different ethnic groups in this region postpone and deeper the conflicts between all ethnic communities, living in the area. 

The planed interviewing, assessment of the results will lead to the main causes and reasons and the possibilities  for conflict resolution. 

The training of representatives from the Roma community in conflict resolution will prepare Roma representatives ready to mediate, negotiate and facilitate the resolution of these conflicts. The Handbook will be used by them and all who want to learn more and acquire more knowledge and skills in this field.

The translation of the Handbook in Macedonian and Romanian languages will be of great help for the Roma communities in these countries and the prioritizing of the donors’ programs and financial programs to the Roma communities. 

In the web site of the project will be hosted the main problems of the Roma community in Vratza region, which  in economic, social, educational aspects in similar and valid for all the country. 

By identifying these conflicts in Vratza region like it was done in Lom municipality it could be orientated programs of USAID, UNDP, Charity Know How, Japan Government Grant Program, PLEDGE Program, Fund for regional initiative with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, “Beautiful Bulgaria” EC Program, other charity and donors’ organizations, as well as the EC structure funds like ISPA, SAPPARD, Social Fund and private firms and sponsors.
